Weekly Update (9/26-9/30)

Math-

Lessons covered:

2.6 Comparison Number Stories

2.7 The Partial-Sums Algorithm

2.8 Subtraction Algorithms

2.9 Addition with Three or More Addends

Language Arts-

We will read selections from the Voices reading series as well as continue the class novel, 7x9=Trouble, this week.

The vocabulary will come from Wordly Wise Lesson 3 this week.

The vocabulary test will be Friday (9/30).

The spelling this week will be "consonant blends."

Science-

We will begin our study of simple machines.

Social Studies-

Continuing with our unit on Florida, this week we will continue working with the Hello, Florida book. Also, we will work on an online scavenger hunt about Florida.

The Daily Geography theme this week is "A Map Grid and Map Index."

Weekly Update (9/19-9/23)

Math-

Lessons covered:

2.2 Extensions of Addition and Subtraction Facts

2.3 "What's My Rule?"

2.4 Parts-and-Total Number Stories

2.5 Change Number Stories

The Unit One math tests will be sent home Thursday.

Language Arts-

We will read selections from the Voices reading series as well as begin another class novel, 7x9=Trouble, this week.

The vocabulary will come from Wordly Wise Lesson 3 this week.
