Thanksgiving Feast--A new 3rd Grade Tradition

Here is a link to the pictures from our Thanksgiving lunch feast. This was the first year that we have had a Thanksgiving lunch, and I think that it went very well. I am already looking forward to doing it again next year :)

Thanksgiving Readers Theater

Today we performed our readers theater, "The Meal Must Go On!" for Mrs. Densa's first grade class.

The first graders were very entertained and enjoyed our performance.

Flagpole

This Monday, our class is hosting the morning flagpole gathering. Each student has some lines to say. Please help your child practice these lines in preparation.

Field Trip

As the children have hopefully told you, on Monday, we are going on a field trip to the Tampa Bay History Center (http://www.tampabayhistorycenter.org/).

We need one chaperone from our class. We will be leaving school at 9:00 and return around 1:00. You will be responsible for the $8 admission to the museum.

Weekly Update

Math-Lessons covered this week are:

4.1 "Multiples of Equal Groups"

4.2 "Multiplication Arrays"

4.3 "Equal Shares and Equal Groups"

4.4"Division Ties to Multiplication"

Language Arts- We will begin our fifth reading topic in Theme One, Bicultural. Our grammar focus will be compound Subjects and Predicates. Spelling Test on Friday (11/20).

Science- We will begin the topic "Doing Work".

Social Studies- We will study two more native Florida tribes, Tocobaga and Timucua.
